Chemical and Industrial Process Control
Digital measurement supports dosing, neutralisation, formulation, rinse control and process consistency.
Why digital measurement matters
pH and ORP controllers can operate chemical dosing systems, conductivity can monitor concentration or rinse completion, and online meters provide alarms when a process moves outside the desired range. Electrode compatibility with temperature, pressure and chemicals must be considered before installation.
Recommended measurement workflow
- Define the decision the result must support.
- Identify the parameter, expected range and required resolution.
- Select a suitable meter, sensor and calibration standard.
- Collect a representative sample or confirm the online installation point.
- Calibrate, rinse and condition the sensor according to the manual.
- Allow the reading to stabilise and record temperature and calibration status.
- Investigate unexpected trends and confirm critical results when necessary.
Sampling
Use clean containers and representative locations. Avoid aeration or contamination where it could change the parameter.
Calibration
Use fresh standards, appropriate calibration points and a frequency suitable for the importance and stability of the measurement.
Maintenance
Clean sensors carefully, store them correctly and replace consumable membranes, electrolytes or electrodes when performance declines.
